Yep, only in America.
St. Stan's still exists, however, the restaurant is now called Hero's (features full St. Stan's lineup!). Bill Coffey is one of the original brewmasters from 1984 doing the beer. We're also bottling again. Web site address everywhere is wrong... it is:

Please note: ST. Stan's is alive!! Bottling beer and all over Modesto!

And next summer, we'll be making the Graffiti Wheat - that would be an upset to those who like St. Stan's, California's 7th Microbrewery, to be thought of as defunct - yet is not, and they could STILL buy our beer. Please update your statement.

I haven't found a definitive "closed" declaration on this brewery but I also have found no indication of life since late 2005. I'm assuming that is the sounding of the death knell. I'd be happy to report otherwise if somebody knows something different.
